DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wondered about peoples’ relationships with identity in Medieval Cornwall? \nHow could they prove a letter came from them? \nOr that a shipment of their produce arrived? \nWith seals of course! \nJoin Laura as we explore Medieval society – through their seal matrices! We will begin with a short talk exploring some of the real-life examples of seals: all found in Cornwall! \nFrom the merchant class copper-alloy trading seals\, to personalised silver seals with intricate designs. This holistic talk-workshop will explore how people interacted with identity\, and in turn\, how we see ourselves today. \nfter the talk\, we will have a go at designing our own individual seal matrix.
