Artist Faye Dobinson will be displaying the artwor

Artist Faye Dobinson will be displaying the artwork created during her residency at The Morrab Library. Faye explored the library through a myriad of different artistic processes and through that, different facets of the space revealed themselves and found form in curious and unexpected works of art.

The exhibition of her work will be in the Elizabeth Treffry Room (upstairs) from Tuesday 23rd - Saturday 27th April. Faye will be in situ, in the Elizabeth Treffry Room, on Thursday 25th (1-3pm), Friday 26th (1-3pm) and Saturday 27th (10am - 1pm) to chat about her work.

Faye will also be running the last of her series of Art Clubs, “art and soul sessions”, at the library on Thursday 25th April from 10.30am - 12pm. Tickets are £10 and available to book directly @fayedobinsonprojects (email address on the poster).

This Saturday (20th, 10am -12noon) the friends of @morrabgardens will be holding their ‘Grand Spring Plant Sale’.

The stall will be in front of the fountain in Morrab Gardens where you will find an array of different plants for sale, including many that grow here in the Morrab Gardens.

Earlier this week library staff visited the new "H

Earlier this week library staff visited the new "Hayle Herstory" exhibition at @hayleheritagecentre , which includes a fascinating display about Elizabeth Carne. You can see the book of her beautiful shell drawings (on loan from our Archive) on display next to some of the minerals from her personal collection.

The exhibition shines a light on many fascinating women including: workers at the Cryséde Silk Works; writer, poet, & Cornish activist, Kitty Lee Jenner, and Constructivist Artist, Margaret Mellis. Have a look at the Hayle Heritage Centre website (link in our bio) to find out more.

One of our volunteers has been reading “Un Avion Sans Elle” by Michel Bussi. This book was kindly donated to the library by the Penzance Concarneau Twinning Society.

You can read his book review over on our Members book suggestions blog (link in bio), borrow this title, and then browse in the Rees Room for other novels in French.
