Michael Grandage – President

Michael Grandage, CBE, has been The Morrab Library’s President since 2018. Michael is a producer and director who lives and works in Penzance. He runs his own highly successful international company (MGC) directing theatre and film in the UK and the US. Morrab Library has been part of his life since he was a child – he walked past it every day on his way to Humphry Davy Grammar School.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dawn French – Patron  

Dawn French is best known for her forty-year career in TV comedy (Comic Strip Presents, French & Saunders and The Vicar of Dibley) and is also a best-selling author and a panto dame. French’s family come from Cornwall and she has made herpermanent home here for eighteen years and is the proud Chancellor of Falmouth University.

 

Philip Marsden – Patron

Philip Marsden is the author of numerous books of history, fiction and nonfiction, traversing widely with stories from Ethiopia and the Middle East to the Western Islands of Scotland, and closer to his home in Cornwall. Marsden wrote enchantingly of The Morrab Library in his book Rising Ground: A Search for the Spirit of Place.

Lord James St Levan – Patron

Lord James St Levan heads up St Aubyn Estates and lives on St Michael’s Mount, which attracts over 300,000 visitors annually and is managed in partnership with the National Trust. He was the founder Chair of Pirate FM and then of UKRD, the group of commercial radio stations that grew from Pirate.
