Mysterious Archives - day 7 of Explore Your Archives Week! Here's a page from the mysterious diaries of one Caldwell Harpur (1866-1945), a local eccentric and writer. He invented his own language called Lenish and wrote thousands of pages of his diaries in this unique code. Day 4 of Explore Your Archives is all about surprising archives. You may be surprised to know that in 1906, Mr Ellis of Camberwell St in PZ completed the construction of a ship, the 'True Love' in his garden, made from old floorboards. Her odd shaped stern was determined by the restraints of the small yard. She was launched but never sailed as she wasn't pronounced sea worthy. #exploreyourarchive #surprisingarchives
