How to get involved!
The breeze is changing, the leaves are beginning to change and the big red door to the Morrab Library is open for you to explore the treasures inside! This Autumn, read 5 books and review them for us to win a lovely bookmark we have designed ourselves! The staff at the Morrab have put our thinking caps on and thought about our favourite quotes from children’s books and want to share those with you on a lovely card bookmark.
So pop in and pick up some books, get in the garden and read! We can’t wait to hear what you think about them.
Adventure awaits!
(You can pick up a review sheet at the desk or download one from this page)
Welcome to the children’s collection of The Morrab Library! Games, videos, reading challenges and more! We have over 800 children’s books available for members to borrow. These range from childhood classics (with many illustrated or first editions) such as The Jungle Book, The Secret Garden, Paddington and Peter Pan to the works of contemporary authors like J K Rowling, Chris Higgins, Andy Stanton, Cressida Cowell, Jon Klassen and Lauren Child. We’ve some lovely picture books for very young ones as well as stories for older children. We also have a young adults section and a selection of non-fiction books that cover a range of topics.

What do you like about the Library?
It’s like a museum and a library and it’s full of books that tell you about everything. You never know what you will find. I love it and I want it all to myself!!
I really like it and I’d like to go there lots of times.
Molly says she doesn’t like to give back her old books, but “I like the new books on shelves, choose them, stamp them and on my arm, stamp here and here!” (points to arm and hand). She agreed that she likes hearing stories “and colouring and sweets” (peppermint creams?) and she likes the grown ups at the library.
I love how welcoming the library has always been to us as a family, both you librarians and the other members. You always have beautiful books for Molly to choose from and she LOVES reading her library books at home. She really doesn’t like bringing them back, but loves coming home and taking her new treasures out of her library book bag. It is a magical place.
Why not share your favourite books with other readers?
