It is Alive if You Are – a talk by Karen Lorenz

Join Karen Lorenz as she talks about her artist residency at the Morrab Library during the Penzance Art Festival, running throughout June.
Karen regards her residency as playing with purpose. In her talk, she reflects on the creative process and how ideas first appear and take shape. ‘It is alive if you are’ illustrates the joy of illusion, the moving image and being attentive to our surroundings. “I like to animate objects. They make excellent storytellers if you let them.” Karen works with drawing, experimental animation, and interactive media to explore that which cannot be articulated with words.
Karen’s talk will enhance our understanding of her work, which will be on display in the library during the PZ22 Penzance Art Festival.
We will allocate tickets by a ballot system. Please register your interest in attending by Monday 6th June and tell us how many tickets you would like. We will then draw out names and let you know if you have been successful.
£5 suggested donation. Refreshments will be served.
