Hannah More – film screening in the library

Morrab Library is delighted to be hosting a screening of the film, Hannah More, directed and produced by our own library members Diana Taylor and Anthea Page at 1.30pm on Tuesday 5th July. The film, set in the 18th century, charts the true story of the life of Hannah More, born into poverty and then betrayed in love, who eventually became one of the most influential women of her time, a turbulent period when revolution threatened from across the channel. Creative Wellbeing Workshops

Emma Farley will be running another creative journaling and mindful lettering workshop at Morrab Library. A rescheduled children’s taster session. I is £5 per child aged 5-11 (they’ll be given a notebook to get them started). Younger ones are welcome to come along free of charge and do some colouring etc. If the weather is on our side, they do some nature mindfulness outside too. Squash and tea/coffee supplied. A Crash Course in Philosophy: Religion & Art

Formerly philosophy was the preserve of PhDs and the intellectually precocious, until now. In this half-day course we will disinter a little of philosophy’s hermetic meaning as we re-evaluate religion, including St. Anselm’s famous ‘Ontological Argument’, and then going on to appreciate art (aesthetics) with Clive Bell, R.G.
