‘Working Lives’: Images from the Morrab Library Photo Archive
The Photo Archive team have created a stunning new booklet using images from the Library’s Archive collections.
‘Working Lives’ depicts men and women at work, resting or pausing to have their pictures taken. These carefully selected images help tell the story of our shared history, and bring us little closer to the past in this area of Cornwall. Farming, fishing, mining, commerce and industry have all given work to the people, as too the artists who have thrived here as well, and all are represented within the booklet’s pages.
Copies are on sale for £8 from the Library, or why not drop in to meet the Photo Archives team on Thursday mornings between 10.00am and 1.00pm and pick up a copy? We can also send booklets for an additional postage charge.
‘Working Lives’ is also a wonderful tribute to our late friend and volunteer Gyn Richards, who worked for many years in the Photo Archive, giving his time and experience freely to enhance the knowledge we have of so many images in our collections. We are grateful to Glyn’s family for helping to fund the production of this booklet. You can read more about Glyn here.
