This is the story of a brilliant young Cornish artist and archaeologist who tried, but failed to storm the social barriers of Victorian England. A poor professional player in a team of gentlemanly amateurs, his frustration eventually destroyed him. The tale is embellished with illustrations, brilliant and sometimes poignant from the Morrab’s extensive archive.
