Introducing…the Morrab Matchbox Miniature
We are very excited to introduce our new gift idea for any of your friends or family who love the Morrab Library.
The Morrab Matchbox Miniature hides a very special treat inside, opening to reveal a 3D illustration of our library! The matchbox itself is a treasure, depicting a wonderful image of Abbey Basin and highlighting the Morrab Gardens.
Each Matchbox costs £10, and proceeds from sales will go towards the care of our beautiful library.
Each Miniature Matchbox is individually crafted by local maker Tracey Harris. Tracey is retired and lives in Penzance, where she is inspired by the town’s wonderful architecture, variety of buildings and rich history. With help from her husband, Tracey creates wooden models of local buildings, which she then carefully handpaints.
Tracey made a large model of Morrab Library and generously gifted it to us in 2025, and you can see it on display in our Reception. This inspired Tracey to decide to create something that was more affordable, which members and visitors could take home – so the Morrab Library Matchbox Miniature was born!

You can purchase these beautiful library mementoes from the Reception desk in the library, or for an additional fee, you can call us to place an order and we’ll post them out to you. Look out for them too at our Library Fairs, on sale at the Library table.
