Tomorrow is Burns night, so to celebrate we search Tomorrow is Burns night, so to celebrate we searched back through our archive of talks (which can be viewed on our website) and present you with the greatly missed Des Hannigan’s talk from 2022 on the poet.

Through stories and verses and a recital of the bard's famous narrative poem 'Tam o' Shanter', Des spoke about Burns being a poet of the people and the pastoral.

The Library’s Relaxed Book Group, led by the lovel The Library’s Relaxed Book Group, led by the lovely Jo Buckingham continues in 2026. The next session takes place on Tuesday 27th January from 2pm-3pm.

This friendly group is for anyone who loves books but doesn’t want the pressure of a traditional book club. Rather than reading a specific book, we share what’s on our bookshelf or simply come for tea, biscuits and company in the beautiful book-filled atmosphere of The Morrab library. Find out more on our website (link in bio).
