Here's the next in our series of shipwreck photos, Here's the next in our series of shipwreck photos, selected by our Photo Archive Intern, Sam Hill.

"The Giles Lang was a 80-ton St. Ives Schooner that wrecked at Bude. Whilst transporting coal from Porthcawl to Penzance, she began to seriously leak and eventually wrecked Maer Lake.

The photograph shows a bustling crowd both watching and hauling the vessel onto the beach!"

“What a wonderful workshop. I am going away with s “What a wonderful workshop. I am going away with so many ideas for future work. I feel I need another life to be able to say everything in my heart! Thank you. Just thank you. Such generosity of spirit. Go to the next workshop and meet Carolyn if you can.”

There are still some spaces available at her next, free, artist-led workshop on Wednesday 26th August (10-12).

Link in our bio to read all about the class, some more lovely testimonials and the booking details.

This month we'll be sharing shipwreck photos chose This month we'll be sharing shipwreck photos chosen by our Photo Archive intern, Sam Hill.

The Queen Margaret impaled on the Maenheere Rocks in May 1913. The four masted Queen Margaret was well known amongst seafarers for her great speed, grace, and good treatment of crew.
Her long, slim hull bulged and parted under pressure of the swollen wheat she was transporting from Sydney to Falmouth. She was later sold for a paltry sum of £50!
