Our Librarian Lisa attended the annual meeting of Our Librarian Lisa attended the annual meeting of the Independent Libraries Association, of which the Morrab is a proud member, last Friday at the wonderful Portico Library in Manchester. 

Our Trustee Bertie Herrtage also joined the meeting to talk about fundraising through crowdfunding.

The ILA links independent libraries across the UK, providing an important means of supporting each other.

It’s National Tea Day today, and we couldn't let the occasion pass without a nod to the elixir that fuels the Morrab Library! We can’t begin to guess at the quantity of tea our staff, volunteers and members enjoy each year.

The three Cornish women, believed to be members of the Perry family of Helston, look to be putting the world to rights over a good strong cuppa. They could be library members!

Arthur Quiller-Couch (1863-1944), who often wrote Arthur Quiller-Couch (1863-1944), who often wrote under the pseudonym ‘Q’, was a Cornish novelist and a literary critic. His anthology, the Oxford Book of English Verse, was the cornerstone of English poetry for more than half a century. 

A dedicated website was created by members of the library, where you will find an important and large collection of online resources relating to Q, his family and his work.
