Join Jan and Lisa at The Morrab Library to hear the story of the rebellious teddy bear, Ruby, written by Maggie Glen. This will take place in the Reading Room on Thursday 28th May from 10.30am - 12pm. The story will be followed by lots of activities inspired by the book.

We have recently welcomed a new intern to the Phot

We have recently welcomed a new intern to the Photo Archive. Sam, a History PhD student from the University of Exeter, has joined us for three months and is helping the team with updating and researching the significant number of photographs relating to maritime history and shipwrecks. He has written a blog to introduce himself and share more about his work with us. See the link in bio.

Throughout his time with us, Sam will share insights into particular areas of his research, and we also look forward to a talk from him at the end of his internship. A big welcome Sam!

Join Jonny Geller, CEO of Curtis Brown Group, on Wednesday 25 November at The Acorn Theatre for the 2026 John le Carré Memorial Lecture.

Jonny was Mr. le Carre’s literary agent, representing the writer who was a great supporter of the library, serving as its President and Patron.

Because of his close relationship with John le Carre, Jonny will deliver a lecture that contains a very personal insight into the writer’s craft, whilst touching on the process of getting novels to print.

Tickets cost £25 and are available directly from The Acorn Theatre website and Box Office, or click on the link in bio to buy them online, and for more information.

This event is an important fundraiser for the library.
