His final blog is more personal, focussing on the working lives of people in the Isles of Scilly, and in particular his third great-grandfather, Samuel Jenkins Guy.

Volunteers and staff have been cataloguing the Eli Volunteers and staff have been cataloguing the Elizabeth Treffry Room so that books can be borrowed for the first time since they were donated to us by Melissa Hardie-Budden and the Hypatia Trust in 2018.

Books by and about Cornish women, as well as the Brontes, can be found on its shelves.

The next in our series of talks will explore some The next in our series of talks will explore some of the curious, fascinating, and peculiar imagery held within our Photographic Archive, through the lens of maritime history. This talk will take place in the Reading Room on Wednesday 12th August from 2pm-3pm.

Photo Archive Intern Samuel Hill's talk will address a broad range of photographs from the collection, focusing on images of shipwrecks, fishwives and the maritime communities of Cornwall, as well as shining a light upon some unique finds.
